You may observe that there has been no substantial changes in Personal Income Tax (“PIT”) policies since 2013. However, achievement of compliance with the existing tax regulations is still a challenging goal indeed.
Tax risks may come from not only the enterprise’ unawareness of the prescribed requirements under the relevant regulations, but also from inconsistent positions of tax authorities: same transaction - different locations => different approaches or same transaction - different years => different treatments.
In the coming time, we anticipate that there will be many changes/developments in tax inspection/tax audit in practice, which will have significant impacts to enterprises. In addition, the enterprise may need to make provision on labor cost due to the change of social insurance regime applicable for both local and foreign employees.

Her main focus is tax compliance services for Vietnam as well as Personal Income Tax (“PIT”) planning, advice on remuneration package and reward scheme for employees, advice on the implementation of Double tax treaties on PIT and matters related to compliance with statutory requirements on immigration and management of foreign workers in Vietnam.
Ms Huyen is the frequent speaker at seminars on PIT, labor laws and management of foreign workers in Vietnam held by various business associations and Ernst & Young Vietnam. In the last years, she has greatly contributed to the regulatory developments in Vietnam by representing the business community to raise voices on practical implementation and initiatives for amendment and supplementation of regulations in the fields of PIT, insurance, immigration and management of foreign workers.
