To begin the week, we would like to take a moment to highlight the launch of our upcoming 2022/2023 Whitebook on Feb. 16 in Hanoi. Each year, EuroCham's Whitebook summarizes sector-specific issues across the Vietnamese economy and offers recommendations. During the annual Whitebook Launch, high-level Vietnamese authorities will be presented with insights from the publication. This event is our foremost advocacy event of the year and is not to be missed!

Vietnam will host a delegation from the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) in partnership with EuroCham. This event is part of the EU-ABC’s mission to strengthen the economic ties between European and ASEAN countries through the development of business opportunities. The delegation will have the opportunity to meet with a number of Vietnamese ministries and government agencies.

This year's , which is one of our preeminent advocacy and business-to-government dialogue events for the year, has been rescheduled as follows:

🕛Date:
Technical Session - Friday, Feb. 24;
High-level plenary - Monday, Feb. 27
🌏Location: Hanoi, venue TBD

For EuroCham, this VBF is of particular significance because it is being co-chaired by EuroCham Board Member Soren Roed Pedersen as well as Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) President Pham Tan Cong. 2023 also marks the VBF's 25th anniversary.

By serving as a is an ongoing policy dialogue between government and business leaders, the VBF has become a key advocacy platform for shaping business and investment reforms that contribute to improving Vietnam's economic landscape.

EuroCham's Annual General Meeting (AGM) Scheduled for March 16

Our 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will happen on March 16! Mark your calendars.

The event will take place in-person simultaneously in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Note: Only members who have paid their membership dues in full for 2023 will have voting rights and can stand for election

The European Business Organization Worldwide Network's (EBO WWN) Southeast Asian Network Kicked Off Its First Meeting of 2023

The European Business Organization Worldwide Network's (EBO WWN) Southeast Asian network kicked off its first meeting of the year on the afternoon of Jan. 19 and featured attendance from the following regional European chambers:
  • EuroCham Cambodia
  • EuroCham Indonesia
  • EuroCham Malaysia
  • EuroCham Myanmar
  • EuroCham Singapore
  • EuroCham Vietnam
  • European Association for Business and Commerce - Thailand (EABC)
  • European Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Lao PDR (ECCIL)
  • European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP)

During the meeting, attendees discussed ways to increase cross-regional cooperation in the new year.

The EBO WWN advocates on behalf of European businesses outside of the European Union. Chambers of commerce and business associations representing the European Union participate in the EBO WWN and work with EU delegations around the world to support European multinational corporations, as well as micro, small, medium, and large companies.
