EuroCham Unveils Our 2023 Whitebook and GEFE 2022 Report!
image
Dear ,

We're thrilled to announce the release of our 2023 Whitebook - your go-to guide to help tackle the pesky obstacles that have been holding back Vietnam's development journey. With help from our 18 Sector Committees, the Whitebook is a comprehensive guide to the regulatory landscape, chock-full of practical recommendations to help European businesses overcome the various challenges they face in the field.

At the Whitebook Launch on February 16, we hosted a business-to-government dialogue forum in Hanoi that brought together 300+ business and political leaders to discuss the key findings from the Whitebook. We talked about everything from healthcare, the green economy and sustainability, to innovation and investment. Best of all, we got some productive responses from Vietnamese ministries, departments, and agencies.

We're also stoked to release of our GEFE 2022 Report - your guide to all the great things that happened at EuroCham's Green Economy Forum and Exhibition, held in November 2022. This report is chock-full of valuable recommendations that'll help Vietnam transition to a greener, more eco-friendly economy. With this report, you'll get to see first-hand how our forum and exhibition helped move the needle forward.

Keep an eye out on our website! Both publications will be accessible to our members soon.

EuroCham and the EU-ASEAN Business Council Engaged in Dialogue with Vietnamese Government Officials in Hanoi
image
EuroCham and the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) joined forces and had the privilege of engaging in dialogue with distinguished government officials in Hanoi from Feb. 14 to 16.

EuroCham Chairman Alain Cany and EU-ABC Vice-Chair Jens Ruebbert co-led the delegation and shared their views that European businesses have a keen interest in the Vietnamese market and regard Vietnam as a leading country and a trailblazer in Asia-Pacific, particularly Southeast Asia.

We didn't waste a single minute! At every meeting, we tackled key issues that matter to our members. Together, we explored how European businesses can further boost the already thriving EU-ASEAN and EU-Vietnam trade and investment relations.

Notably, the delegation had the privilege of engaging in dialogue with the following dignitaries and representatives from their respective departments, ministries and agencies:
  • Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh
  • National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue
  • Minister of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Bui Thanh Son
  • Minister of Finance (MOF) Ho Duc Phoc
  • Vice Minister of Science and Technology (MOST) Nguyen Hoang Giang
  • Vice Minister of Transport (MOT) Nguyen Danh Huy
  • Vice Minister of Industry and Trade (MOIT) Tran Quoc Khanh
  • Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Director General Nguyen Trung Khanh
  • State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Deputy Governor Pham Thanh Ha
  • Deputy Director of the Customs Supervision and Administration Department at the General Department of Customs Nguyen Bac Hai

“In our meetings earlier this week alongside the important delegation from the EU-ASEAN Business Council, we were able to raise our key issues and recommendations, and confirmed the seriousness of our solid relationship with the Vietnamese government.” according to EuroCham Chairman Alain Cany.

Following the first day of meetings, the EU-ASEAN Business Social on Feb. 14 also brought participants together for an evening of delicious food, drinks, and great conversation.

We cannot help but express our heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished government officials who generously gave us their time. And to our fellow participating delegation members, we extend our gratitude for the enriching and lively discussions we had. Thank you all for a productive and memorable experience!
