In an unprecedented move, the national parliament announced the establishment of a city within a city in HCMC called Thu Duc City, covering three Eastern Districts (2, 9 and Thu Duc). The real estate market here is booming since Thu Duc City will be a hub of banking, finance, industry, commerce, services and tourism, along with rapid urbanisation and increasing population density. Expected to become a locomotive for urban and hi-tech development, Thu Duc has an exceptional strategic position in the Southern Key Economic Zone (SKEZ) of Vietnam.

Fred Burke is a Senior Partner of Baker McKenzie, based in Vietnam. He has more than 30 years’ experience practicing in the areas of International Trade, Taxation & Customs, Real Estate, Hotels & Resorts, Renewable Energy, Project Finance and Dispute Resolution. Fred currently serves as a member of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council on Administrative Reform in Vietnam. He served as the Investment & Trade Working Group Chair for the Vietnam Business Forum for over a decade and joined the VBF Member’s Council in 2020.
He has extensive experience working with Vietnam legislators and law drafting committees on the full range of new laws and decrees integrating Vietnam into the global economy.

Country Manager at JLL Vietnam
Paul Fisher is the country head of Vietnam at JLL, leading the firms 440 employees across leasing, tenant representation, capital markets, consulting and research, valuations, property and asset management, as well as project and development services. This includes oversight of the hotels & hospitalities and facilities management businesses in the country. During his 17 years working in commercial real estate across Europe and Asia, Paul has had posts in London, Frankfurt, Hong Kong and now Vietnam.

Head of Markets at JLL
Trang Bui is Head of Markets and is responsible for all commercial leasing work undertaken by JLL in Vietnam. She has over 14 years’ experience in tenant representation, marketing and leasing. She leads the leasing business across retail, office and industrial including both landlord and tenant representation business units. Trang worked for CBRE Vietnam and Savills Vietnam before moving to JLL in 2012.
