On 25 November, EuroCham will launch the 2021 edition of its annual Whitebook of Trade and Investment Issues and Recommendations.

The publication will be presented at "Meet Europe 2021: EU-Vietnam Partnership Post-COVID-19", a major business-to-government event co-organized with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ("MOFA") at the Melia Hotel in Hanoi from 07.30 to 12.00.

With lockdowns ending and Vietnam entering a 'new normal', and with the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement ("EVFTA") now in force, the insights and recommendations of our members - if addressed and taken on board - provide a roadmap for greater trade and investment between our two markets. This will be essential for our companies and communities to rebound and recover after COVID-19.

These issues will be discussed in detail at the launch event, taking place both in Hanoi and online, with the presence of business leaders, government representatives, the diplomatic corps, and media. In two thematic sessions, attendees will discuss the challenges and opportunities of doing business post-pandemic, and how best to leverage the EVFTA to unlock the full potential of EU-Vietnam trade.

The first session, "Enhancing Quality and a Responsible Investment Environment", will discuss issues and recommendations in healthcare, green growth, and other important industries with presentations from EuroCham members and Sectors Committees, as well as feedback from relevant government departments.

The second session, "EU-Vietnam Partnership Post-COVID-19", will include an update on the Prime Minister's visit to Europe, EU perspectives on strategic development in Vietnam, and potential opportunities for cooperation with provincial leaders.

The Whitebook 2021

Collecting the insights and suggestions of EuroCham's 18 Sector Committees - working groups where enterprises in similar industries advocate on common topics - the Whitebook brings together the perspectives of European business in one flagship publication.

Now in its 13th edition, the aim of the Whitebook is to further enhance the business environment of Vietnam through evidence-based, sector-specific proposals for legal, trade, and investment reform.

Fruitful dialogue between Business and Provincial Leaders

Following up with the Whitebook Launch 2021, EuroCham is hosting a Business-to-Government (B2G) meeting session in the afternoon from 2:00 - 3:00 PM. The session featuring high-level provincial leaders from Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, Hung Yen, Thai Binh và Bac Giang, will be an exclusive occasion for businesses to expand their network and explore investment opportunities.
