According to the Doing Business 2018 Report, released on October 31st 2017, Vietnam has continued to improve its business environment and the country is narrowing the gap with the global regulatory frontier. Vietnam ranks 68 out of 190 economies on the Ease of Doing Business, up from rank 82 in last year’s report.

Vietnam ranks 68 out of 190 economies on the Ease of Doing Business, up from rank 82 in last year’s report.
Vietnam is placed among the top five performers in ASEAN, but it continues to score below Singapore (2nd), Malaysia (23rd), Thailand (46th) and Brunei (56th). It is important to note that some of the improvement in Vietnam’s ranking (9 out of 14 rank points) is due to changes in the Doing business methodology.

He joined the World Bank in 2009 and has wide experience working on trade, business environment and financial sector issues in over 15 countries. Brian has pre-Bank experience as a trade negotiator working on regional and WTO negotiations. Brian also worked at the World Bank Institute in Washington DC on trade related issues as a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow under the Fulbright Program.
