Andrea is a Canadian lawyer and Master of International Relations graduate. She has six years of professional international experience in corporate, commercial and foreign investment law. After completing her juris doctorate and master’s degree in Ottawa, Andrea did her articles at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, a full-service corporate/commercial law firm in Toronto. She then moved to Lao PDR and worked in DFDL’s Vientiane office as a Legal Adviser. In Laos, Andrea did general advisory work clients with a focus on foreign investment and labour and employment matters. She also advised both lenders and sponsors on several major hydro-power projects. From Laos, Andrea then moved to Tbilisi, Georgia where she was the Executive Director of the International Chamber of Commerce for one year. Following this, Andrea and family moved to Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina where she worked as Counsel at Karanovic & Nikolic, a regional law firm with a presence in the countries of the former-Yugoslavia. As a member of the firm’s Energy & Infrastructure practice group, Andrea contributed as a writer and was responsible for editing Focus on Energy, a Karanovic & Nikolic publication on energy-law developments in the region.
