The European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham)will present the 10th edition of the Whitebook on 15 March in Hanoi in its yearly event entitled “Whitebook Launch and EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement Outlook 2018”. The Whitebook is the Chamber’s landmark publication of trade and investment issues and recommendations.
The EuroCham Whitebook, published in every year since 2007, reflects EuroCham’s 20 year-long relationship with Vietnam itself, and has become a respected source of information for those who wish to learn the perspectives of foreign business in the country.
In addition, the Whitebook is a key product of EuroCham’s main activity: advocacy. This 10th Edition of the EuroCham Whitebook is no exception as it again gathers key concerns and recommendations from the European business community in Vietnam, discussed among EuroCham’s members and sector committees throughout the year. It is a collective message that cuts across several industries and companies, providing an accurate illustration of the expectations and recommendations of EuroCham members and partners.

The Whitebook Launch will be a unique discussion on trade and investment topics, with a focus on the role of the European business community in Vietnam’s economy, as well as the status of the implementation of the EVFTA, expected to come into force this year. The event will count on the presence of Vietnamese ministers and other high-level officials, including the leaders of the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce (VCCI) and the EU Ambassador to Vietnam H.E. Bruno Angelet.
In 2017, more than 400 people attended this event, gathering distinguished guests, business leaders and other professionals to discuss topics of crucial importance for the Vietnamese economy, Europe-Vietnam business relations and the coming EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement.
While more information on the event’s content is being updated regularly, this 10th Whitebook Launch, happening on the year of EuroCham’s 20th Anniversary and the 30th Anniversary of Foreign Direct Investment Law, is sure to attract much attention and produce important insights on the future of trade and investment in Vietnam.

Co-Chairman at EuroCham VietnamNicolas is EuroCham Co-Chair since October 2017, having been a member of its Executive Committee since 2014, with particular involvement in the preparation of the White Book and advocacy on behalf of foreign investors to the Vietnamese authorities. Member of the Paris Bar, Nicolas Audier is an attorney with 20 years of experience in the ASEAN Region and Vietnam in particular. He has been working in Vietnam since 1995 and was head of a leading international law firm in Vietnam from 1995 to 2008, before establishing Audier & Partners, which now has offices in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Ulan Bator and Yangon. He is special trade advisor on Vietnam for the French MFA since 1999, having been honored (“Bang Khen”) by the Vietnamese Minister of Justice in recognition of his substantial contribution to the development of Vietnam’s legal system, one of three lawyers to ever receive this distinction.
