Jonas
Dalsgaard
Chief Commercial Officer, Sustainable Energy at Howden
Jonas started his insurance career as a trainee at Aon before moving to Marsh and obtaining his insurance broker license in 2005. Jonas subsequently built his career within the large and complex segment at Marsh and If P&C until moving to Codan in 2013 where he specialized in renewable energy with a particular interest in offshore wind.
He spent 7 years with offshore wind market leader Codan; initially as Offshore Wind Underwriter before moving into a business development leadership role where he developed and executed Codan’s global growth strategy and subsequently built strong connections in the offshore wind communities with a strong emphasis on Europe and Asia. He holds substantial technical underwriting experience in underwriting offshore wind and transmission assets through his involvement in a significant offshore wind book of business. This includes hands on experience on a variety of projects; from prototypical floaters to commercial scale fixed foundation projects and some of the largest offshore wind insurance placements in the world.
Jonas was instrumental in building the Codan brand in Japan and Taiwan; the latter in which he secured a significant market share over the course of 3 years.
Jonas joined Howden in 2020 as Chief Commercial Officer for Sustainable Energy with responsibility for global growth and marketing within the entire spectrum of renewable energy technologies and in particular to further build on Howdens global capabilities within offshore wind and offshore transmission.
Jonas is physically based in in Copenhagen where he also serves as Managing Director for the Danish branch of Howden Specialty.
Vipul Shetty
Director, Energy Transition at Howden
Prior to joining Howden, Vipul was with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), a statutory board of the Singapore Government responsible for investment and growth of the country’s various business sectors. As a manager of the Energy & Resources division he handled Investment negotiation and facilitation for some of the world’s largest Energy and Renewables companies, namely: Chevron, Aramco, PetroChina, Sinopec, Arlanxeo, REC Solar, Reliance, and Envision. With these companies he was also engaged in Energy Transition Strategy Development which looked into knowledge sharing and investment opportunities in Carbon Capture Utilisation & Storage, Hydrogen, BioFuels & Pyoil, Low-Carbon Power Generation and Energy Efficiency Upgrades.
Now in Howden, Vipul forms part of two divisions, the Natural Resources & Climate Risk and Resilience Divisions and co-leads the development of Energy Transition risk solutions globally with a focus on Hydrogen, Carbon Capture and Carbon Credits. His background in Energy, Renewables and Power, allows him to work and advise on both traditional and emerging risk solutions for his Clients.
Vipul started his career at Marsh and spent 7 years there as a senior risk broker in the Energy Practice. His work spread across Onshore Energy, Power & Renewables for both operational and construction projects and also led risk solutions for Offshore Subsea Cable projects. During his time there, he was responsible for placing some of the largest insurance programmes in the region.
