There is a famous saying: It takes a village to raise a child. It will take the entire global village to stop the flow of plastic waste into the environment.
Despite the many benefits of plastic to health, safety, sustainability and convenience, plastic waste has become a challenge in many parts of the world because it is not managed properly. To help address this challenge, it requires a coordinated and transformative way of both public and private sectors - policy makers, researchers, companies that make, use, sell, process, collect and recycle plastics, and consumers.
Featuring key note speeches and in-depth panel discussion among government authorities, NGOs and companies, this event is to showcase what Vietnam is doing to tackle this challenge and share relevant experiences from Europe.

Nicolas is EuroCham Co-Chair since October 2017, having been a member of its Executive Committee since 2014, with particular involvement in the preparation of the White Book and advocacy on behalf of foreign investors to the Vietnamese authorities.
Member of the Paris Bar, Nicolas Audier is an attorney with 20 years of experience in the ASEAN Region and Vietnam in particular. He has been working in Vietnam since 1995 and was head of a leading international law firm in Vietnam from 1995 to 2008, before establishing Audier & Partners, which now has offices in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Ulan Bator and Yangon. He is special trade advisor on Vietnam for the French MFA since 1999, having been honored (“Bang Khen”) by the Vietnamese Minister of Justice in recognition of his substantial contribution to the development of Vietnam’s legal system, one of three lawyers to ever receive this distinction.

Mr. Andreatta has been in the EuroCham Executive Committee since 2011 and is the Chairman of EuroCham’s Green Growth Sector Committee. He is the Chief Representative in Indochina for Intesa Sanpaolo since 2008, after a 20-year career in banking and finance in Europe, the Americas and Asia. As representative of the EuroCham Green Growth Sector Committee, he is firmly convinced that Vietnam can choose a more sustainable path to growth, in which European firms can be of substantial support. He points out that one crucial condition for the adoption of a green strategy in Vietnam is the availability of sources of financing from the private sector.

Dr. Ramkumar Dhruva was born in India 1968. In 1996 he earned a Ph.D. in Organic Synthesis, Photo & Electro Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He was a research chemist in Polymer Dispersions Laboratory in BASF AG, Ludwigshafen, Germany when he joined BASF.
He has more than 20 years of operation experience in Polyurethanes, Coatings Solutions, Functional Polymers and Adhesives & Construction. In addition, he has held a number of senior roles in Hong Kong, India and Japan. Currently, he is the President of South & East Asia, ASEAN & Australia/New Zealand at BASF East Asia Regional Headquarters Ltd., Hong Kong.

Rowan has extensive experience in the practical implementation of solutions for biopolymers ranging from organic waste management, the applications of composted organics and soil amendments for improvements in soil health, use of biodegradable mulch film and the merging of these two applications for improving sustainability in horticulture and agriculture.
He has more than 30 years’ experience in Asia Pacific in the agricultural, packaging, mining and general manufacturing industries, in roles spanning marketing, sales and operations with local and multinational corporations.
Current responsibilities
1. President, the Australasian Bioplastics Association, the peak industry body for the Bioplastics industry across ANZ and with global affiliations in Europe, the US and Asia.
2. Executive Secretary, Pan Pacific Bioplastics Alliance, the joint Industry Association representing Industry bodies from Europe, North America, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, India, China, Taiwan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
