The New Labour Code of 2019 will take effect from 1 January 2021, which bring the Vietnamese legal framework closer to international standards. Accordingly, the Government also planned to issue a number of decrees and circulars guiding the implementation of the New Labour Code.

Mr. Van Trung Khuat is currently Legal Counsel at Baker & McKenzie (Vietnam) Ltd and Co-Chairman of Human Resources & Training Sector Committee.
Trung Van Khuat joined Baker McKenzie since April 2012 and work as a Special Counsel based in our Ho Chi Minh City Office. In addition to the current office, Mr. Khuat also worked in Hanoi and Chicago offices of the Firm.
Mr. Khuat's main practice focuses on labor and employment, general corporate, dispute resolution and compliance. In addition, his practice also covers M&A, telecom and communications, and various areas of the law affecting the day-to-day operation of business entities, including corporate governance, and commercial transactions. Mr. Khuat is a regular speaker in seminars and events on labor and employment law.

The EuroCham Human Resources and Training Sector Committee (HR&T SC) is a key Sector Committee under EuroCham.
