Global food and agricultural production have increased significantly by a combination of population and economic growth. Because of that, combined with serious natural resource degradation and climate change, it poses enormous challenges to our global food system. It's time for us to adopt more sustainable methods to provide access to safe, affordable and nutritious food for people, without damaging the natural environment or wasting resources. So, how is the food system in Vietnam now and what is its relation between Vietnam – EU Trade?

1. What is the challenge for businesses in Vietnam for this transition? What is a sustainable way for the business when more and more EU Regulations are designed and applied in the future?
2. How the sustainable food systems can benefit EU-Vietnam agri-food trade?
3. The coming implementation of a food system partnership by MARD and how the private sector is invited to join this work

Mr. Florian Johannes Beranek is a Lead Senior Expert on Responsible Business Development (RBD). Since 2009, he worked mainly for UN organizations (UNIDO, UNDP, UNOPS), other international development partners like EU SWTICH Asia, as well as national and international business platforms.
He holds an MSc degree on CSR and Ethical Management of University of Applied Sciences in Vienna, Austria. Before starting his assignments in Asia, he worked for several years consulting international companies and organizations mainly in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and India as a senior partner of The CSR Company Ltd., Austria.

O'Regan
Executive Director of Economic Development Consultants Ireland (EDCI)
Trevor has more than 25 years’ experience in trade and sustainable development, regional and local development, agribusiness, trade information, increasing intra-regional trade and implementing Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
He has extensive experience of working in Vietnam. Most recently, Trevor was Team Leader on the EU funded ARISE+ programme which provided support to 3 ministries on the implementation of the EU Vietnam FTA (EVFTA). Prior to this, he was Team Leader on the Vietnam National Trade Repository (VNTR) working closely with the ASEAN Division of the Multilateral Trade Policy Department (MTPD) at the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT). He was also a short-term advisor on the USAID Trade Facilitation Program (TFP) supporting the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC).

Chaminade
Regional Counsellor for Agricultural Affairs at Embassy of France in Vietnam
Marion Chaminade took a position of agriculture counsellor for France in continental Asean countries at the end of 2020. Working at the Economic service of Hanoi, her regional mandate covers in addition to Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Burma. In this position, she implements three different missions : (i) implementation of the strategic plan for the development of exports and the internationalization of the agricultural and agri-food, forestry-wood, and bio-sourced products sectors, in conjunction with other export operators, in particular Business France; (ii) information and monitoring of agricultural, agri-food, forestry and fishing sectors and policies; (iii) general mission of influence / cooperation (promotion of the French agricultural model, concept of GI, welcoming of delegations,…).
