Come and join EuroCham and BritCham for a special luncheon to gain insight into Vietnam's development in 2022 and to forecast its performance in 2023.
This workshop will be conducted by the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) in partnership with EuroCham Vietnam on Feb. 13 in Hanoi. It will discuss the following:
  • What can Vietnam do to implement a national screening program for Hepatitis C, HIV, and cervical cancer?
  • Health screening awareness varies by region, with urban residents being more knowledgeable. How can we bridge this gap?
  • How can private stakeholders work with the government to increase screening for communicable and non-communicable diseases?
  • Can Vietnam ensure that patients receive the right care and tests can be conducted for multiple diseases through an efficient laboratory and point-of-care infrastructure?
  • Taking into consideration the progress made so far, what more needs to be done to achieve universal health coverage over the next seven years?
  • What are the challenges Vietnam faces in its efforts to end the epidemic of AIDS and hepatitis by 2030?
Vietnam will host a delegation from the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) in partnership with EuroCham. This event is part of the EU-ABC’s mission to strengthen the economic ties between European and ASEAN countries through the development of business opportunities. As part of their visit, members of the delegation will meet with a number of Vietnamese ministries and government agencies.
Join EuroCham Vietnam and the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi on February 14 to broaden your network, dine on gourmet cuisine, sample a fine selection of drinks, and strengthen our dynamic EU-ASEAN community!

- "According to the Foreign Investment Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), Vietnam is likely to attract 36-38 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2023. The figure was nearly 22.4 billion USD in 2022."

- "On the external front, foreign direct investment (FDI) disbursements, international tourism and remittances picked up the slack despite a deteriorating current account balance. FDI disbursements rose to US$10 billion in the first half of 2022 — the highest increase in five years. Foreign investments in manufacturing, particularly in electronics, continued to grow rapidly in 2022."

- "Vietnam attracted foreign direct investment (FDI) worth 1.69 billion USD as of January 20 this year, down 19.8% annually, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO)."

- "Despite decreases in both imports and exports, the country still enjoyed a trade surplus of $3.6 billion in the first month of 2023, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO)."

- "CREDIT rating agency Moody’s on Monday (Jan 30) changed its outlook on Vietnam’s banking system from “positive” to “stable”. The downgrade comes amid growing asset risks from stress in the real estate sector, and deteriorating profitability due to higher funding costs."
