The EU-Vietnam Business Network (EVBN) is a European Union co-funded project implemented by three partners in Vietnam [the CCIFV (French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam); EuroCham Vietnam (European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam); the ICHAM (Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam); and three in Europe [the Czech Chamber of Commerce; Polish Chamber of Commerce (PCC); and the Unioncamere del Emilia Romagna (Italy).
The EVBN works towards increase exports and investments of the European Union (EU) to Vietnam in particular by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as well as strengthening the EU Business sector in Vietnam by facilitating market access through advocacy primarily with the Vietnamese Government.
The EU business sector in Vietnam as well as SMEs and in particular businesses from those EU member states (EU-MS) who do not yet have an official commercial representation in Vietnam are regarded as major beneficiaries of the action. The EVBN will strengthen the EU business sector in facilitating market access in Vietnam by advocating and engaging primarily with the Government of Vietnam, the Vietnamese business sector and other stakeholders.
EVBN will promote Vietnam as a high-potential trade and investment market to assure that EU companies, in particular SMEs, are better able to exploit the growing opportunities in Vietnam and Vietnam as a gateway to the SEA regional market.
The EVBN supports activities in four components:
European Outreach:
This component aims at improved knowledge of the economic potential of Vietnam and of the ASEAN regional markets amongst European companies, SMEs in particular; and promote Vietnam as an investment destination to European SMEs, by reaching out to Europe with the help of EVBN’s consortium partners located in Europe.
Business Support Services (BSS) provision:
This component aims at an enhanced capacity for delivery of European-level, value added, business support services (BSS) for European SMEs that are not yet represented or under-represented in Vietnam.
ASEAN Regional Integration:
This component aims at the regional coordination and integration of related ASEAN projects currently implemented in Indonesia, Malaysia, and in Philippines.
Government and Public Affairs (GPA) Structure / Trade Advocacy:
This component aims at an enhanced capacity of European business, particularly SMEs, for the market access advocacy and improved level playing field. In particular: Improving the Business Climate in Vietnam by addressing key market access issues and trade / investment policy in Vietnam.
