EuroCham and its Pharma Group Met with Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam on Pharma Industry Development |
|
EuroCham Vice-Chair Minh Nguyen (Mazars), Advocacy Manager Vinh Dang, and representatives from EuroCham's Pharma Group, including Chairman Emin Turan (Sanofi), Director Thuy Nguyen and External Affairs Manager Thach Do, met with Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam on September 22 to discuss implementing the pharmaceutical development program and the speeding up of access to new innovative drugs.
Representatives from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Ministry of Science and Technology, as well as business associations such as AmCham, Vietnam Pharmaceutical Companies Association (VNPCA) and VinaPharm attended.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam heard from the MOH about pharmaceutical development and gathered input from business associations concerning such issues.
Pharma Group Chairman Emin Turan proposed ways to accelerate access to innovative drugs in the Vietnamese pharmaceutical industry. He also suggested maintaining marketing authorization (MA) validity while allowing the MOH to clear the current renewal dossier backlog. In the event that the Pharma Law cannot be fast-tracked, he said that a new resolution should be passed to maintain MA validity and remove MA renewal procedures.
Pharma Group also offered proposals for incentives regarding pricing stability, procurement, registration, and reimbursement speed.
Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam said the Pharma Law needs comprehensive and diligent revision, and Resolution 30 is the best way to deal with immediate issues like extensions for MA validity. |
